
We recognise that the quality of our staff is crucial to the quality of the supported living services we provide and therfore the training and development of our team is a key priority that receives substantial investment.
More than 92 per cent of our staff are already trained to NVQ Level 2 or above and the remainder are working towards a new qualification Diploma in Social Care. This makes 100 per cent of our workforce trained or working towards an industry recognised qualification.
All Excel managers at team leader grade or above have been trained to a minimum NVQ Level 4 or LMC. We also sponsor additional training for staff to enable us to offer a better service for our customers, for example specialist training in autism and challenging behaviour and mental health disorders.
We never use agency staff as our managers provide emergency cover and our staff retention rate has been 96 per cent over the last two years, which enables us to provide continuity of support for our individuals and indicates a high level of employee satisfaction.
As part of our commitment to providing high quality services for the people we support, we carry out formal monthly reviews involving consultation with individuals and their families or advocates.
We also carry out a full annual review where all stakeholders of the organisation are invited to participate in an evaluation of the service being delivered. At this time there is also an opportunity for discussion regarding the aims and objectives for the next 12 months.
