Working with Excel Support Services

At Excel Support Services, we maintain a high staff ratio accessed with the needs and RAS value. This can range from low level support through to 24-hour care to all our service users. All homes have a management team of a registered manager and a deputy and/or assistant manager who supervise and support their team.

Employees are offered time off on full pay to pursue relevant training opportunities and develop their professional skills. They are highly motivated to provide care, support and advice which enables individuals to develop life skills, independence, community participation and decision-making abilities.

Established staff members will also perform the role of key worker for a particular service user, to ensure the service offered is reviewed regularly and any problems or concerns can be discussed. The key worker will be someone the service user chooses or communicates well with, and who has an appreciation of their racial and cultural heritage.

Staff support the service user to persue a healthy lifestyle with a choice of nutritious and wholesome meals, catering for special diets, any cultural or religious needs. When possible, service users are supported and encouraged to produce their own meals. Some individuals, however, require increased assistance and supervision from staff.

Overall, our staff are trained to encourage opportunities for service users to learn and experience enjoyable activities and leisure pursuits. We remain committed to provide high standards of professional care that honour their privacy, dignity and choice.
